About the District

The Pal Mar Water Control District was created by Special Act as the Rotunda Drainage District in the 1960′s and is located in both Palm Beach and Martin Counties encompassing approximately 23,000 acres. A majority of the lands within the District are in public ownership and no one currently resides within the boundaries.

A five-person Board of Supervisors governs the District. One representative from each County serves on the Board and the other three members are elected by the landowners on a one vote per acre basis during the annual landowner’s meeting. The District may borrow money, issue bonds, and levy taxes and/or special assessments, user fees and charges.
